The practice of contemplation can be difficult in these days of 24/7 news and digital distractions.
In the book, 'Into the Silent Land', by Martin Laird, the opening line states "We are built for contemplation". Laird goes on to explain that the skills necessary for this "subtlest, simplest and most searching of the spiritual arts" are often most elusive.
Our next guided retreat will will run at The Cliffs Retreat over four days from 3rd - 6th April 2025.
The retreat will focus on some of the practices outlined in Laird's book and will incorporate plenty of opportunity to enter into your own silent land and learn more of the art of contemplation.
This retreat will be hosted by Clare Shearman, run from Shoreham in Victoria, and can be attended in person as a live-in retreat, or as a day retreat from your own home.
